(ANS – Addis Ababa) – A two-year beekeeping training project was officially launched at the Don Bosco Catholic TVET College (DBCTVT) Institute “Bosco Children” following the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Embassy of Slovenia and the Salesians of Don Bosco, in the presence of H.E. Ambassador Kristina Radej. The initiative, inaugurated by Fr. Estefanos Gebremeskel, Executive Director of the Planning and Development Office (PDO), aims to equip vulnerable young people, especially from rural areas, with modern apiary skills under the Department of Urban Agriculture. Alongside technical training in beekeeping, participants will also receive basic formation in business management and entrepreneurship to promote sustainable livelihoods. Over the two-year period, the project envisions preparing 100 skilled apiary professionals who will be reintegrated into their families and communities, contributing to local economic development and self-reliance.
