(ANS – Hua Hin) – The Salesians of Don Bosco from Thailand, Cambodia and Laos, belonging to the St Paul Province of Thailand (THA), took part in the annual spiritual retreat on the theme ‘Witnesses of God’s Love in the World’ from 1 to 7 March 2026 (1st group) and from 8 to 14 March 2026 (2nd group) in the annual spiritual retreat on the theme ‘Witnesses of God’s love in the world’. The retreat was preached by Fr Pascual Chávez Villanueva, SDB, Rector Major Emeritus of the Salesian Congregation and 9th Successor of Don Bosco,
The Rector Major Emeritus guided this reflection on mysticism according to the teachings of Pope Francis, drawing on various Apostolic Exhortations and Encyclicals published during his pontificate. In addition, the Salesians were able to deepen this experience in a concrete way through a renewed spirit of fraternal life during the retreat, so that they could return to everyday life as ‘authentic witnesses of God in the world’.

Third Day – Looking Outward to the World
Saturday 9 May will be dedicated to looking “outward,” with particular attention to the presence and role of Salesian Cooperators in society. The theme of the day will focus on being “leaven in the world,” especially among young people, families, and the elderly. The programme includes a round-table discussion with young people from different continents, followed by work sessions by geographical areas reflecting on how the Association can continue to be a living sign of the Salesian charism in various cultural and social contexts. The day will also include the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Association and one of the most significant institutional moments of the Congress: the appointment of the new World Coordinator by the Rector Major. The programme will conclude with a Via Lucis and a moment of fraternal celebration.
