Bolivia – Salesians in Bolivia further their formation and synodal commitment

(ANS – Cochabamba) – The Cochabamba Provincial House of the Salesians in Bolivia hosted Ongoing Formation Days from 24 to 26 March 2026. The gathering brought together Salesians in their first ten years of priestly ordination, practical trainees and Salesian Brothers. The central aim of this meeting was to strengthen the identity and mission of the consecrated Salesian. Through reflection and discernment, the participants delved deeper into their vocational experience in the light of three fundamental pillars: the new Ratio, GC29 and the Synod on Synodality. The programme included presentations via the Zoom platform: “The Preventive System and the Ratio Studiorum”, Fr Alejandro Rodríguez, SDB, spoke to explore the pervasive presence of the Preventive System within the new Ratio, understood as a model and method of Initial Formation and ongoing formation; “The Conversion of Processes – Synodality”, by Dr Erika Aldunate, a lay theologian and member of the Synod on Synodality; “Shared Mission”, Fr Luis Torrez, SDB, addressed the second theme of GC29, emphasising the joint work of the Salesians, the Salesian Family and the laity “with” and “for” young people. Faithful to the call of the Church today, the moments of reflection took place according to the “Synodal Methodology – Conversation in the Spirit”, a method that prioritises active listening and communal discernment.
